Pizza Margherita; pear salad – 22 January 2012
D was getting ready for a trip, so I took over cooking and made a Pizza Margherita.
I went to The Pasta Shop in west Berkeley and bought their fresh mozzarella, which is a tasty cow’s milk mozz. Nice that they offer multiple different amounts you can buy – one, two, three, or four balls in a container. That is a good business. I chose a container with two balls – about a half pound.
D made pear salads from a Bartlett pear, and they were delicious.
He took the opportunity to use our new special balsamic vinegar, which he bought for me for Christmas.
He chose our much-loved Chateau Saint-Sauveur Cotes du Ventoux, which we get from Grape Expectations’ store Vino, on Fourth Street in Berkeley.
